He has a background in strategic communications, notably for the STEP Fusion energy project, and holds a degree in Politics from Nottingham Trent University.
Outside of his political and professional life, Ben is a husband and father to two sons. He is a passionate sportsman, actively playing as a hockey goalkeeper for a local club and avidly supporting Nottingham Forest Football Club. He has previously chaired the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Hockey.
He made history by becoming the first Conservative MP for the Mansfield constituency since its creation in 1858, a seat held by Labour since 1923.
