Early in his career, Enrique served as the Vice Mayor of the City of West Miami from 1994 to 2001. He is a board member for UnidosUS, a Latino advocacy organization, where he works to be a role model for future generations.
He was the principal advisor on the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act (S. 744), the only comprehensive immigration bill approved by the U. S. Senate in the last 25 years.
