Gustavo Pinet Méndez is the Executive Chef at Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, where he oversees the culinary program for multiple restaurants, including Don Manuels and El Farallon. A graduate of Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana, his culinary philosophy centers on highlighting the freshness and quality of local ingredients from the Baja California peninsula.
Originally from Mexico City, Gustavo discovered his passion for cooking at age 16. He considers his family to be his main motivation and an essential part of his creative process. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with them, which serves as a source of inspiration for his work.
He believes that discovering a new dish brings more happiness to humanity than discovering a new star.
