Mark Thomas is the CEO of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP), with over two decades of experience in policy and communications. He previously led the RCGPs policy and engagement directorate, where he authored the Colleges organisational strategies, developed its response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and delivered a new digital engagement function.
Mark has a strong history of public service, having served for eight years as a local councillor in Wandsworth, where he was the opposition spokesperson for health, adult care, and housing. He has also volunteered as an associate hospital manager, reviewing patient detentions under the Mental Health Act for an NHS trust.
