A PhD graduate from New York University, she aims to merge biomedical research with her passion for communication, organization, and team building to foster scientific innovation by a diverse new generation.
Outside of her primary role, Shushan is deeply committed to mentorship and philanthropy. She serves on the board of Clear Direction Mentoring as the Director of Early Career Opportunities, where she established a summer internship program for underrepresented students in STEMM. Her passion also extends to supporting Armenian scientific advancement through various initiatives.
Her doctoral research focused on isolating and characterizing bacteria from individuals in an indigenous Malaysian population infected with intestinal parasites.
