Stephen West is an internationally acclaimed bass-baritone and the Chair of the Voice & Opera Department at the University of Michigan. His distinguished career includes performances at the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala, and the Bayreuth Festival. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado and the Curtis Institute of Music.

Deeply committed to mentorship, he dedicates his time to training the next generation of vocalists. His students have gone on to perform in major opera houses and on Broadway. He also teaches in Florence, Italy, during the summer at the Bel Canto Institute.

He has performed in over 150 roles with the worlds finest opera companies and collaborated with renowned conductors like James Levine and Sir Riccardo Muti.
