Kate Johnson is the Regional Director for North America at C40 Cities, where she leads initiatives to advance urban climate action across the United States and Canada. Her career is dedicated to environmental policy, with previous roles leading climate and green building programs for Washington D. C. s government. She holds an MPA from Columbia University.
Outside of her primary role, Kate is deeply engaged in fostering collaboration between city governments and federal partners to accelerate climate solutions. Her work involves uniting mayors and local leaders to collectively advocate for and implement ambitious environmental policies, demonstrating a strong commitment to public service and collaborative governance.
She helped create the first-ever City Energy Efficiency Scorecard while at the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy.
