Simon Danner

Simon Danner leads the Credit Risk team at Octopus Energy, applying a deep background in data science to the energy sector. He holds a Dr. phil. from the Technical University of Munich, where his doctoral research in ergonomics was conducted in cooperation with AUDI AG, focusing on human-machine interfaces for automated driving.

His academic work includes numerous publications on driver information needs and the usability of automated driving systems, blending psychology and computer science. This unique expertise in human-centric data analysis provides a distinctive foundation for his current role in financial risk management.

His PhD focused on how automated driving systems communicate their availability to the driver, a niche and highly specific area of human-machine interaction.
