Dr. Peter Rutherford is the former CEO of Confluence Health, a family physician with over 35 years of experience. He was instrumental in the 2013 merger that formed the organization. He holds a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Washington and a recent certification in AI in Health Care from Harvard Medical School.
Outside of his executive duties, he is interested in evidence-based patient care, with a special focus on sports medicine and geriatrics. His recent activities highlight a passion for understanding graceful aging, particularly muscle preservation, and the importance of global collaboration among family physicians to address healthcare challenges.
He was a key leader in the merger of Wenatchee Valley Medical Center and Central Washington Hospital, creating the Confluence Health system he would later lead.
